Our client is an American supply chain solutions leader who provides airfreight, ocean freight and contract logistics solutions for more than 120 locations globally. They support the aerospace, automotive, consumer retail, energy, hi-tech, industrial and many other industries.

The Strategic Commercial Manager is responsible for:

  • Building and & maintaining a vigorous field sales team by ensuring usage of CRM tool.
  • Lead the team to achieve 3x base pay with 12-15 meetings a week & pipeline 100x base pay.
  • Work on new potential opportunities with the team
  • Trade lane management and development.
  • Monitor the bid submission through weekly meeting to discuss on rejected opportunities & develop solution to regain lost lanes.
  • Propose solution to advance oversized/project cargo.
  • Planning move shipments to increase organization’s profit margin with multimodal, gateway movements or console shipment.
  • Proactive in vendor management and vendor selection (air/sea & land transport).
  • Regular client engagement through Quarterly Business Review or Monthly Business Review.
  • Obtain information on future project lanes & start working on solutions.
  • Manage & submit yearly RFQs.
  • Ensure operations team is complying to delivery KPI set by clients.
  • Conduct Monthly Business Review to understand challenges faced & produce solution.
  • Work on new potential opportunities.
  • Ensure continuous business growth for organization through weekly summary preparation to update country’s activity & engaging with regional/global team for local opportunities.
  • Review number & volume from main contributors weekly and working out solution during downtrend period.

The Requirements:

  • 5+ years prior experience in business development or marketing fields
  • A proven history of successful leadership
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a strategic thinker and a have strong negotiation skills.
  • Possess a collaborative mindset and work well as part of a team.
  • Up to date on industry trends, as well as laws and regulations
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and industry contacts
