Our client is a specialist in global container logistics with 40000 employees globally. The company focuses on freight forwarding, contract logistics and port logistics, managing complex supply chains and provides a wealth of innovative value-added services. The Operations Manager will be based in Johor Bahru.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for:

  • Supervising and managing the overall Import/Export operations for Ocean and Air.
  • Ensure the daily operations are up-to-date and all enquiries answered within the same day or within 24 hours.
  • Monitoring the response to rate enquiries from overseas and quotations provided timely.
  • Developing related business potential with overseas branch offices or appointed agents. 
  • Handling customer enquiries, complaints and maintaining a good rapport to fulfil their requirements.
  • Ensuring preparation and processing of all necessary data entry and confirmation of key milestones (orders, departure, arrival, customs clearance, etc.) as specified by Standard Operating Procedures.        
  • Overseeing the accurate completion of billing based on the pricing established/quotation while ensuring the accurate costs and profits are maintained.
  • Meeting time frame KPIs for escalations to the next tier levels for unresolved issues.
  • Monitor and ensure that all job files are closed as per timetable and to sign off all completed job files.      
  • Ensuring accruals are done correctly for month-end closing and sign off accrual report.   
  • Keep track of all Data Quality reports and rectify the errors.
  • Conduct training of the Operations Team in terms of Standard Operating Procedures, Data Quality, and system related matters.
  • To understand the ISO management system.
  • Ad-hoc assignments as assigned by management.

The Requirements:

  • Candidates must possess at least a Higher Secondary / STPM / “A” Levels / Certificate / Diploma / Degree or higher field.
  • 5 years working experience in the related field or in managerial position.
  • Possess customer service mindset and an analytical approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Minimal supervision to complete tasks, highly trainable and approachable.
  • Proficient in both English and local languages both written and verbal.
