The Ocean Freight Manager will be responsible for leading and expanding the oceanfreight division, with full ownership of departmental P&L performance, operational excellence, and strategic carrier relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the oceanfreight team through clear KPIs and performance management.
  • Take full ownership of departmental P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, and yield improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee end-to-end oceanfreight operations, including FCL, LCL, Breakbulk, OOG, chartering, and project cargo shipments.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, vendors, NVOCCs, and service providers.
  • Negotiate competitive freight rates, service agreements, and space allocations to support business growth.
  • Drive RFQ management and pricing strategies to enhance competitiveness and secure new business opportunities.
  • Ensure full compliance with DG/IMDG regulations while managing project cargo activities, including surveys and lifting plans.
  • Maintain SOPs, compliance standards, and support internal as well as external audits.
  • Ensure customer requirements and expectations are consistently understood and delivered through excellent service standards.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 7–10 years of experience in ocean freight forwarding, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Proven experience in P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial oversight.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in oceanfreight operations, including Oil & Gas logistics and project cargo handling.
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with proven experience managing carriers, vendors, and service providers.
  • Sound knowledge of DG/IMDG regulations and HSE compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities in a fast-paced logistics environment.
