The company
Our client is an international logistics and freight forwarding company that offer transportation solutions globally. The company provides a wide range of customized solutions of logistics services and supply chain solutions such as Transportation, Warehousing and Custom Clearance.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and organization for sea freight operations within the company.
- Handle different types of shipments (FCL, LCL, Consol, etc.)
- Assist customers with the booking stage and shipping requirements in terms of import/export/transit and explain the procedures to customers in case of any questions.
- Ensure during verification of HB/L are accurate before releasing cargo under different types of bills of ladings.
- Ensure no delay of customs application with regards to physical submission to customs offices and/or online procedures.
- Adhere on-time KPIs for customs and pre/on-carriage procedures.
- Double check quotation validity before handling the shipment and coordinate with sales if extension is needed.
- In-charge of cross-trade shipment and ensure smooth communication, instruction and billings among origin and destination office, and the customer.
- Coordinate with shipping lines about sailing, schedules, booking, space issues, etc.
- Coordinate with local pricing teams for the final choice of Liner / Co-loader under short time frame.
- Negotiate with Liner / Co-loader for the extra requirements, if possible, from Shipper.
- Complete supplementary tasks in term of discrepancies / irregularities.
- Monitor and complete KPI reports upon customers’ requirements.
- Be the contact points between customers and sub-contractors during shipment handling.
- Update shipment status in details upon to customers’ requirements.
- Meet the timeframe KPIs for adding new contacts in operational system, documentation collection, completion, and submission.
- Finance-relating document creation in operational system.
- Strict meeting of in-time receipt of correct and sufficient documents.
- Archive documentation into job file before vessel arrival.
- Avoid postponed shipments due to lack of documents.
- Monitor payment to the Creditors and late payment received from Debtors without notification and clear reasons from Accounting Department and evaluate and ensure invoices in terms are correct.
- Manage relevant documentation and ensure mandatory documentation are in respective files.
- Ensure smooth correlation with interrelating departments, such as trucking, customs brokerage, etc.
The Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics / Transport Management / Supply Chain or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of relevant working experience.
- Strong knowledge in ocean freight.
- Knowledge of local and international freight services and customs policies.
- Familiar with industry standard programs and able to operate standard systems.
- Customer service mindset and data analytical approach.
- Trainable and approachable.
