The Company

We are partnering with The Solar House Sdn. Bhd. (TSH), a Malaysian company specializing in providing comprehensive solar photovoltaic (PV) services, including consultancy, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and maintenance of solar PV systems.

As a Drafter, you will develop precise, high-quality drawings and schematics that support teams in delivering effective solar PV systems. You will play a crucial role in transforming project concepts into build-ready designs that align with regulatory standards and company specifications. This position is based in Penang and is part of the Engineering and Design team. The ideal candidate should have strong proficiency in CAD software, an understanding of construction and engineering principles, and a passion for renewable energy design.

The Drafter will be responsible to:

  • Produce detailed engineering drawings and layout for solar PV system installations.
  • Update existing drawings based on design revisions, site adjustments, or feedback.
  • Maintain drawing documentation, filing systems, and version control.
  • Assist in preparing as-built drawings and documentation for project completion.
  • Collaborate with the procurement and site teams to ensure constructability of designs.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and site survey data.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, site supervisors, and project managers.
  • Support communication between technical and non-technical teams regarding design details.
  • Represent the company’s design standards to external vendors or consultants when required.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture or related technical field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a drafting or technical drawing role.
  • Experience in the solar or construction industry is a strong advantage.
  • Experience with preparing site layout plans, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and as-built documentation.
  • Working knowledge of solar PV layouts, mounting systems, electrical schematics.
  • Strong technical drawing and layout design skills.
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical design in solar PV systems.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian construction and safety codes.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or equivalent drafting software.
  • Familiar with solar design software such as PVsyst or Helioscope is an advantage.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work output.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Team player with a proactive and adaptable mindset.
