Our client is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to drive expansion and build strategic partnerships in Malaysia. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with a strong commercial mindset, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a solid background in freight forwarding and logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Client Management
- Identify, engage and secure new business opportunities in the Malaysian market.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring long-term partnerships.
- Promote the company’s freight forwarding services, including Air and Ocean freight, warehousing, customs clearance, and logistics solutions.
- Deliver customized solutions to clients by understanding their supply chain needs and offering tailored services.
- Meet and exceed sales targets by proactively engaging with potential clients and expanding the customer base.
Market & Competitive Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and potential business growth areas.
- Analyze pricing strategies and service offerings to position the company as a key player.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop competitive and innovative sales strategies.
Collaboration & Customer Solutions
- Work closely with overseas agents and local operations to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Act as the key point of contact for customers, swiftly resolving any service-related issues.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in sales within the freight forwarding, logistics or supply chain industry.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping, customs procedures, and logistics operations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Fluent in English & Bahasa Malaysia (both spoken and written). Additional language skills are an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Willingness to travel within Malaysia and internationally as required.
