With a focus on enabling smart factory integration, they support global clients—from equipment manufacturers to end-user fabs—with advanced technologies that enhance operational efficiency and accelerate digital transformation.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible to drive sales of the company’s cutting-edge factory automation solutions to semiconductor industry factories focus on Malaysia and possibly Singapore. Responsible for the entire sales cycle, from lead generation and qualification to closing deals and building long-term client relationships.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible to:
- Identify and quality potential clients: Research and identify semiconductor factories, equipment maker in Penang and across Malaysia that can benefit from the company’s software automation solutions. Develop and implement targeted outreach strategies.
- Sales Strategy Development & Execution: Create and implement comprehensive sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets, including market analysis, competitive analysis, and value proposition development.
- Product Demonstrations and Presentations: Showcase the capabilities of the company’s software solutions to key decision-makers, highlighting the value proposition and addressing client-specific needs.
- Prepare and deliver proposals and quotations: Develop compelling proposals and quotations that clearly articulate the benefits and ROI of the company’s solutions.
- Contract Negotiation and Deal Closure: Lead contract negotiations and close deals, ensuring favourable terms for both the client and the company.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships: Develop and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders within client organizations, ensure client satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Stay informed about industry trends: Maintain a deep understanding of the semiconductor industry, including emerging technologies, market trends, and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with internal teams: Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer success teams to ensure seamless execution strategies and client onboarding.
- Sales Forecasting and reporting: Provide regular sales forecasts and report to management, tracking progress against targets and identify areas for improvement.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably within the semiconductor industry or a related technology sector in Malaysia.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and building strong client relationships.
- Strong understanding of factory automation solutions and their applications within manufacturing environments.
- Experience selling software solutions to semiconductor factories.
- Direct experience working with or selling to end-user semiconductors factories is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with challenges in legacy machine automation, factory integration, and SECS/GEM communication is a major plus.
- Existing network of contacts within the semiconductor industry in Malaysia.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Mandarin (dealing with customers in China).
