The company

Our client is an international logistics and freight forwarding company that offers transportation solutions globally. The company provides a wide range of customized solutions of logistics services and supply chain solutions such as Transportation, Warehousing and Custom Clearance.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Business Development Manager is responsible for generating gross profit and revenue growth by new client development and growing existing client according with the company.

The role

  • Achieve a high percentage of new business awards while generating high GP margin for new and existing accounts to meet/exceed new business revenue goals.
  • Engage with customers to maintain close relationships and ensure ongoing success with accounts.
  • Access with several levels of decision-makers to understand customers’ business challenges and logistic goals.
  • Develop customized logistics solutions that deliver and support value to the customer’s business strategy.
  • Collaborating with all the company’s resources to support customer retention and to build a rapport and trust with customers by informing them about customer’s business and the market.
  • Apply and receive regional and global tenders and coordinate as account owner with regional tender teams.
  • Close corporation with Country- & Product Management to set selling price strategies for all assigned customer tenders.
  • Integrate daily use of the SUGAR platform to document sales activity and related customer business details.
  • Manage opportunities and risks securing the interest of the company.
  • Take part in all sales training provided and scheduled by the company.
  • Act as lead negotiator closely during client presentations.

The requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Logistics or equivalent experience in logistics.
  • Minimum 5 years field sales in freight forwarding.
  • Strong decision and problem-solving skills and result oriented.
  • Strong negotiation and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Strong work-ethic and integrity and client focused.
  • Willing to travel and fluent in English both written and spoken.
