The Company:

We are partnering with a global leader in end-to-end supply chain services and network solutions. The company manages large and complex supply chains across multiple industries and a trusted partner in transforming and optimizing supply chain. 

The Business Development Director will be responsible for: 

  • Business development for airfreight, ocean freight and contract logistics within the company network of countries including Singapore
  • Developing and implementing sales development strategy according to company capabilities, trade lanes and business plan to meet or exceed assigned sales targets
  • Identifying and jointly developing solutions with internal stakeholders that will increase new customer acquisitions and retentions
  • Identifying and acquiring new customer opportunities by developing a strong pipeline
  • Establishing and managing a network of customers to build relationships and trust between the company and the customer at various levels
  • Transform potential opportunities into actionable plans with customers
  • Maintaining optimal sales volume, mix of products, and prices by keeping being up to date with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors
  • Optimising Gross Profit and selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand
  • Overseeing the coordination with relevant departments to meet customers’ requirements
  • Detailing the operating procedure and for each secured customer and delineate concerned operational parties to ensure that all understand the required processes
  • Updating all sales activities in the company’s CRM software to ensure accurate and timely monthly sales reporting to the Country Head of Sales.
  • Develop and coordinating effective use of marketing materials and all customer related information with relevant team members in marketing and administration
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the reporting manager and country / global management

The Requirement

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or an equivalent field is preferred
  • Minimum 8 years in sales experience in the Logistics industry is preferred
  • Experienced in regional business development and account management
  • Extensive market knowledge in freight forwarding, supply chain solutions with specialisations in certain industry verticals
  • In depth understanding of leveraging a sales process to uncover customer needs and presenting appropriate solutions
