The Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Purchasing Manager to join the team. You will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials, goods, and services required to support the manufacturing and logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers to meet the company’s purchasing and operational requirements.
- Negotiate prices, terms and conditions with suppliers.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and other procurement documentation.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to maintain efficient stock control.
- Work close with the internal sales team to understand the purchasing needs and requirements.
- Analyze purchasing data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s purchasing policies, procedures, and SST requirements.
- Possess working knowledge of SST regulations, including tax implications on procurement and supplier transactions.
- Monitor and lead Purchasing team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
What We’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in purchasing or procurement role, preferable have experience in the plastics industry.
- Able to communicate effectively to support cross-border business coordination and with the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers.

- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills, with a proven track record of building strong relationships with vendors.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good understanding of supply chain management and inventory control best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
